Planting & Care
1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Select a spot with at least 6 hours of sunlight daily and well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and place the rose in gently, backfilling with soil and watering thoroughly. Spread a 3" layer of mulch three feet around the plant, pulling it back a few inches from the base.
2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. After establishment, water deeply once a week, more often during dry spells. For best health, always water roses at their base and avoid getting water on the foliage.
3. Pruning: Prune in early spring when new growth begins to appear. Remove dead, weak, or crossing stems, shortening the overall plant by one-third, and shape the plant to encourage an open center for better airflow.
4. Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced rose fertilizer in early spring and again in mid-summer. Follow the package instructions for application rates to promote healthy growth and blooming.
