Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a well-draining location with plenty of sunlight for optimal growth. Dig a hole that’s twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Place the shrub in the center and backfill with native soil amended with organic matter, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the ground. Spread a 3” layer of mulch 3 feet around the shrub after planting.

2. Watering: Water regularly, ensuring the soil stays moist but not waterlogged. Deep watering is essential during establishment. Once established, water deeply once a week and more often in times of drought.

3. Pruning: Prune in late winter or early spring. Cut canes back by one third to help promote new growth and flowering in spring. Remove dead, diseased, and crossing wood.

4. Fertilizing: Fertilize with a balanced rose fertilizer in early spring and again in early summer.
