Gripple Setting Key

Gripple Setting Key | Adjustment and Release Key for No.4 - No.6

The larger of the two Gripple keys. It does for No.4, No.5 and No.6 fasteners what the Flag Key does for the smaller sizes: it slides into the nose of the hanger, joiner or Lockable grip, lifts the internal wedges off the wire, and lets the rope run back out so a drop can be set to its final height or the fastener released and reused. Supplied with a keyring attachment. Sold as a single unit.

Why use a Gripple Setting Key?

A Gripple is one-way by design: wire/wire rope goes in, does not come back. That is exactly what you want on a finished run, and exactly the problem the moment a drop is set too short or the wrong leg has been threaded. Without the key the choice on site is a cut wire/wire rope and a fresh fastener. The No.4 to No.6 sizes carry the heavier suspension and bracing work, where re-terminating is not a small job - and they are the drops most likely to need setting on site rather than off a drawing.

Where is the Setting Key used?

Mechanical and HVAC installation, ductwork and pipework suspension, plant rooms, cable containment, catenary and bracing runs - anywhere No.4, No.5 or No.6 Gripple fasteners are being levelled, adjusted or recovered. Keep one alongside the Flag Key so both size bands are covered.
