Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a spot with well-drained soil and partial to full sunlight for optimal growth. Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and just as deep. Gently place the shrub in the hole, ensuring it is level with the surrounding soil, and fill it back in, firming the soil. Water thoroughly to eliminate air pockets. Spread a layer of mulch around the shrub to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.

2. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to encourage healthy growth.

3. Pruning: Light pruning can help maintain its shape and promote more blooms. Remove any dead or damaged branches as needed.

4. Fertilizing: In containers, apply a balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to support lush foliage and vibrant flowers. In-ground plantings should be fertilized in early spring and again in mid-summer.

5. Winterizing: In cold zones, bring Estrellita indoors once temperatures reach 50°F. Place the plant in a sunny window during winter, reduce watering, and stop fertilizing. Move it back outdoors in spring once temperatures are consistently above 50°F and all danger of frost has passed.
