Skyfall hydrangea is a prolific bloomer prized for exceptionally large flower clusters. Each cluster is filled with distinctive florets whose recurved petals resemble hyacinth blossoms, creating a bold yet refined look in borders, foundation plantings, or as a flowering accent.

The long-lasting flowers emerge white in summer and gradually soften to pale pink in fall, providing interest across multiple seasons. This resilient cultivar grows well in full sun or partial shade and adapts to a range of soil conditions, making it a dependable choice for many landscapes.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Plant or repot within 4 weeks of arrival. Choose a location in full sun or partial shade with well-draining soil. Dig a hole about twice as wide as the root ball and no deeper, then backfill and water thoroughly. Allow enough room for good air circulation and mature growth.

2. Watering: Water deeply after planting and regularly during the first growing season. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Once established, water during extended dry periods, especially in hot, sunny locations.

3. Pruning: Prune in late winter to maintain a balanced shape and encourage vigorous growth and flowering. Remove weak, damaged, or crossing stems, and cut back remaining growth as needed without removing the plant’s main framework.

4. Fertilizing: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth begins. Follow label directions and avoid overfertilizing, which can encourage excess leafy growth at the expense of flowers.
